About Me
- Name: Julian Hall
- Location: London, United Kingdom
After leaving Warwick University I worked as a research assistant in Westminster for a number of Lib Dem MPs and as regional media co-ordinator during the 1997 election. A career in journalism followed with two years writing for, and eventually editing, The Independent’s Pandora column. After a stint as a theatre PR I returned to journalism. Since 2003 I have been the comedy critic for The Independent and also written on a range of topics for a range of publications from national newspapers to on-board train magazines. My first book, The Rough Guide to British Cult Comedy, was published in 2006 to a series of good reviews. My work on radio and TV has included: BBC Scotland (Will The Real A L Kennedy Please Stand Up?), BBC Midlands, Channel 4 (Is Benny Hill Still Funny?), Paramount Comedy (The Top Ten Sex and the City Episodes), BBC Radio 2 (writing a series of Alexei Sayle's Alternative Take) BBC London (radio and TV for The Rough Guide to British Cult Comedy) Nuts TV (regular pundit and BBC Radio 7.
